Attendance

Good attendance and punctuality are extremely important.

Our school curriculum is carefully planned based on children attending school, on time, every day.

Missing school means missing important learning.

Absence from school can only usually be authorised when your child is too ill to attend school. Where possible, medical and dental appointments must be arranged for out of school time. Holidays should not be booked during term time. If, for any reason, your child is absent, you must telephone the school before 9am to report the reason for absence. This will prevent an absence call being made by the school and a text being sent. If your child is absent from school and we do not hear from you, we will conduct a home visit to check on their welfare.

Absence and lateness is carefully tracked and detailed records are kept by the school and local authority.

Our attendance policy below explains how we try to ensure good attendance and punctuality. We advise parents to not take children out of school on holidays. This will not be authorised except in exceptional circumstances. If you feel that you have an exceptional circumstance which means that you need to take your child out of school in term time you must complete and return the form below in advance of the absence.
